Your role as a Java Developer

As a Java developer you are part of a dynamic team. Despite the serious projects we tackle, we maintain a close atmosphere in our team. We work together on challenging projects, offer each other support when necessary, and occasionally go on adventures together. Our software development focuses primarily on customised solutions for requirements and assignments where standard software does not meet the requirements, including the development of new solutions based on modern architectures, maintenance and upgrades, as well as the integration of third-party systems. Our portfolio ranges from complex integration systems with large amounts of data to responsive web applications with excellent user acceptance and mobile apps that deliver excellent user experiences.

Your responsibilities:

  • Writing structured and maintainable code of high quality; 

  • Maintaining and debugging existing software systems; 

  • Sparring partner for colleagues and stakeholders within and outside the team; 

  • Sharing your knowledge, insight and opinion in different meetings (standup, sprint planning, retrospective, design/architecture sessions) to ensure that the project moves in the right direction; 

  • Code review and guiding (junior) engineers; 

  • Depending on your wishes and ambitions, you can take on more responsibilities and grow in your seniority. 

What you bring:

  • You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Technical Informatics, Mathematics or equivalent.

  • You have at least 3 years of experience in software development and excellent knowledge Java and OO concepts.

  • You are used to delivering high-quality code and are familiar with Spring boot, Micro services, Kubernetes.

  • You have an excellent command of the English and Dutch languages (both oral and written).

The ideal candidate is someone with a deep passion for Software Development, supplemented with a constant curiosity about the latest developments and a willingness to implement them in personal projects. Sharing knowledge and experience is important, as is the belief that collaboration is the key to success. Experience with Java, SpringBoot, Microservices and related technologies mentioned in the vacancy is necessary, as well as at least 3 years of work experience as a Software Developer and an education level equivalent to HBO.
